Biography:

Dr. Yan Peng completed her pediatric residency/chief resident at Beijing Medical University (Peking University Health Science Center) and practiced as a pediatric nephrologist for two years. Following six years of basic science research on kidney disease at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW), she pursued pathology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Dr. Peng holds expertise in breast and gynecologic pathology, certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. She served as the inaugural co-leader of the breast pathology specialized service and pathology representative on the Cancer Committee of the NCI-designated comprehensive Simmons Cancer Center of UTSW. Dr. Peng has contributed to NCI clinical trials, co-investigated NIH RO1 funded research on breast cancer therapeutic targets, and published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. As an editor, guest editor, and author, she has played key roles in pathology textbooks. Additionally, she has served on editorial boards, reviewed for various journals, and held leadership positions within UT Southwestern.
