This study explores the effectiveness of dermabrasion and chemical peelings in the treatment of post-acne scars and spots. Three groups of patients underwent different treatment methods over a period of several months. The first group was treated with microcrystalline dermabrasion, with each scar receiving 4 to 6 treatments, repeated every 10 days, under superficial anesthesia using 5% lidocaine. The second group received combined chemical acid treatments, consisting of salicylic, glycolic, lactic, azelaic, and citric acids, administered over four sessions with 12 to 14-day intervals. The third group was treated using ultrasonic and microwave procedures, with treatments occurring once and twice per week, respectively, for a total of 8 sessions each.

Results indicated that all methods, particularly the combination of microdermabrasion and chemical peeling, were highly effective in reducing the appearance of post-acne scars and spots. The significant improvements were observed within two to three months post-treatment. This study demonstrates the promising potential of apparatus-based treatments in managing acne scarring.
