Pregnancy and Childbirth

Pregnancy and Childbirth

Pregnancy and childbirth are natural processes whereby a woman conceives and delivers a baby. Pregnancy begins with fertilization, when a sperm cell penetrates an egg, leading to the formation of a zygote. Over approximately nine months, the zygote develops into a fetus within the mother's womb. During childbirth, also known as labor, contractions of the uterus push the baby through the birth canal, resulting in delivery. This process is accompanied by various stages, including dilation, expulsion, and placental delivery. Pregnancy and childbirth are profound experiences, often accompanied by joy, anticipation, and some discomfort. Expectant mothers must receive proper prenatal care to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and the developing baby.
