Janusz Mindykowski (IEEE SM’2013, IEEE Life SM’2025) was born in Poland in 1950. He received the M.Sc. and PhD. Degrees in electrical engineering from the Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, in 1974 and 1981, respectively, and the D.Sc. Degree from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, in 1993 and the Professor’s title – in 2002 from the President of the Republic of Poland.
He is currently a Head of Marine Electrical Power Engineering Department, Gdynia Maritime University. A key point of his research is focused on power quality problems.
Prof. Mindykowski very actively cooperates with different institutions whereof a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (1994-2013), a member since 1999 and a Chairman of IMEKO TC4 Technical Committee on Measurement of Electrical Quantities (2012-2015), the Member of the Committee for Metrology and Instrumentation, Polish Academy of Sciences (2003-2015), the Member of Metrology Council at the Central Office of Measures since 2017, Poland, Honorary Professor of Shanghai Maritime University, China (2006), Doctor Honoris Causa of „Georghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania (2018).
