Haydom Lutheran Hospital, Tanzania
An explorative qualitative study, using purposive sampling to recruit participants at Haydom Lutheran Hospital from October 2023 to January 2024. Using semi-structured interviews,14 women, one to six months post-delivery were interviewed in Kiswahili language, on perceptions and experiences regarding VAD. Interview guides were used to collect data until the saturation point was reached. Field notes were taken, interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim and translated into English. Thematic analysis was used to generate themes.

The mean age of the
study participants was 24.6. 50% of the participants had primary
education, 28.6% had secondary education, 21.4% had college
