Prof. Tarek Safwat is a Professor Emeritus of Pulmonary Medicine at Ain Shams University, Cairo, and President of the Egyptian Scientific Society of Bronchology (ESSB). He trained in Egypt, Paris, and the USA, specializing in pulmonary medicine, bronchoscopic laser resection, and interventional procedures. Prof. Safwat has held key academic roles at Ain Shams University and served as Egypt’s ACCP Governor (1992-1996) and International Regent (1996-2002). His expertise includes asthma, COPD, early lung cancer detection, and interventional bronchoscopy.
