Non-infectious Diseases

Non-infectious Diseases

Non-infectious diseases, also known as non-communicable diseases (NCDs), do not spread directly between individuals. Conditions like Parkinson's disease, autoimmune disorders, strokes, major heart ailments, prevalent cancers, diabetes, chronic kidney issues, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's, cataracts, and more fall under this category. NCDs can manifest as both chronic and acute conditions. While most are not infectious, there are exceptions, including non-communicable infectious diseases. These involve parasitic infections where the parasite's life cycle lacks direct transmission between hosts. NCDs encompass a broad spectrum of health concerns and necessitate comprehensive approaches to prevention, management, and public health interventions.
